How does my athlete qualify for a meet?
All Pride Track and Field athletes automatically qualify for the all meets of the season up the State Meet. To advance, or
qualify for the next meet, the Junior Olympic Regional Championships, they must finish in the top five at the State Meet. To
advance, or qualify for the next meet, the Junior Olympics, they must finish in the top five at the Regional Meet.
There may be a few select Meets where there will be qualifying standards to enter. If we have athletes who can qualify for
these Meets, we will approach the parents and see if there is enough interest to enter them.
The USATF YOUTH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS is a National Championship Track Meet that qualifies children in the same
fashion as the adults do for their National Championships by use of a "Qualifying Standard" established for each event in
each age group by gender. If your child has met this standard, then they automatically qualify for this National
Championship Meet. Again, a coach will approach the parents of the Athletes who have qualified and see if there is enough
interest to enter them.
What if my athlete misses a meet?
They will be allowed to compete in all Meets during the season, except for the above mentioned qualifying ones. However,
there will not be a refund for not being able to attend a Meet.
How many events may my athlete compete in?
Sub Bantam, Bantam & Midget (3 events), Youth, Intermediate & Young Men/Young Women (4 events). Relay participation
counts as an event.

Qualifying athletes from the State (or Association) Meets in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, and the
Potomac Valley area.
My athlete failed to qualify for the Regional Championship. May they still practice with the team?
