Head Coach:  Mike Rowland

Coach Rowland has 16 years coaching experience with Track & Field, among coaching experience in Football, Basketball, Soccer and wrestling.  A
former United States Marine, he has traveled the world and had many opportunities to interact on the international level as well as coached U.S. youth
sports teams in competition against youth teams from other countries.

He is currently working on his Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management, concentration in Sports & Recreation Management.

He was a high school athlete where he earned multiple Varsity Letters in football, wrestling, Track & Field and Cross Country.  He had multiple
Conference Titles in Wrestling and Track & Field.  He was also a multiple State Championship Qualifier in Wrestling and Track & Field.   While in the
Marine Corps, he actively competed in intramural football, wrestling, softball, basketball and powerlifting.  He also coached adult intramural basketball
teams.

He has successfully coached four USATF National Champions in a combined 9 events.  

Also, during his coaching career, has had 23 athletes qualify for a USATF National Championship, making the finals a combined 76 times, making them
All-Americans.

He is also the Head Coach for the Indoor Track & Field Team at Northside High School and a volunteer Assistant (Throws/Hurdles) Track & Field coach
for Outdoor Track & Field Team at Northside High School in Jacksonville, NC.

Coach Rowland is married to Tamara Rowland.  They have four children: Kaili, Kenneth, Geoffrey and James.  They also have
four grand-children:
Aaliyah, Alexis, Z'Riyah
and Robert.
Assistant Coach (Throws):  Jason Tran

This is Coach Tran's first year of coaching and will be assisting Coach Mike Rowland with the throwing events.  

He was a former high school Track & Field Athlete who was All-Conference and All-State in only two seasons of training.

He is a current full-time college student who is looking forward to teaching youth athletes and helping them to the same success he had in high school.
Assistant Coach (Distance):  Tim Dahms

Coach Dahms competed in track and field for over 10 years.  He has multiple All-State performances in high school.

He attended University of Wisconsin Platteville where he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Business Administration.  

In 2009, he was a US Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association Academic All-American.

While at UW-Platteville, he competed in Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track.  In 2010, the university added Coach Dahms to their coaching staff
as a student-assistant.  As a Coach/Athelte, he helped the Pioneers to fourth place at the NCAA Division III National Championships.

In Coach Dahms competetive career, he has had the opportunity to train with athletes who have qualified for the Olympic Trials.

Assistant Coach (Distance, Multi-events):  Steven Duncan

This is Coach Duncan's first year of coaching Track & Field.

He is currently working on his Bachelor's Degree in Health & Sports Science.

He was a High School Track & Field athlete, where he competed in multiple events.  Most notably, the Pole Vault where he was a 3X District Champion
and qualified for State twice.  He was also on a State qualifying 4x400 Meter Relay team.

He also competed in Football and Cross Country.

Coach Duncan is married to Naomi and they have two children, Connor and Aiyana.
Assistant Coach (Sprints/Hurdles):  Daniel Rowland

Coach Rowland has coached multiple Junior High and Youth teams in the past.  He has coached in Basketball, Wrestling and Track & Field.

He attended the University of Hawaii where he obtained his degree in Human Resources.  He is currently working on his graduate degree in
Educational Curriculum Development.

He was a High School Track & Field athlete, where he primarily competed in Hurdles and the long sprints.  

He also competed in Football, Wrestling, Tennis and Cross Country.  

Coach Rowland is married to Sarah and they have a son, Justin.
Assistant Coach (Multi-Events):  Geoffrey Rowland

Coach Rowland has been a volunteer Youth Track & Field coach for five years.

He has been training and competing in Track & Field since he was eight years old.

He was a High School Track & Field athlete, where he was a standout in the Sprints and Hurdles. He has won conference titles in the 110 Meter
Hurdles and made the State Finals in the 110 Meter Hurdles.  He is also a 9-Time USATF Youth All-American in the 110 Meter Hurdles, 400 Meter
Hurdles, Javelin and Multi-Events.  

He also has assisted with the coaching of many successful high school All-Conference and All-State track and field athletes.  He has also assisted with
the coaching of many USATF All-Americans.
Assistant Coache:  Carman Avery

This will be her first year of coaching.  Coach Avery will be focusing on the 8 & Under ages this year to ensure they are receiving more focused
attention to their training in regards to fundamental mechanics of running and conditioning.

Carman attended her first coaching clinic this January at the North Carolina Track & Cross Country Coaches Association Annual Clinic in Greensboro,
NC.  Here she specialized in the jumping events and middle distance events.  

Carman has a daughter, Avery.
